J. Timothy DiPiero is a member of Di Trapano, Barrett & DiPiero, PLLC. Previously, he had been a partner in Di Trapano & Jackson, having joined that firm in 1983. From 1975-77, he was a law clerk to Charles H. Haden, II, for seven months when Judge Haden was Chief Justice of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and for eighteen months when Judge Haden was appointed to the federal bench as the U. S. District Judge for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia.

Following his clerkships, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia in Charleston, West Virginia from 1977 to 1983.

Mr. DiPiero received his Juris Doctor Degree from West Virginia University College of Law in 1975 where he served as an Associate Editor of the West Virginia Law Review. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, in 1971.

Mr. Di Piero is admitted to practice in the West Virginia Supreme of Appeals, U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia and the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, as well as the West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

In 1982, Mr. DiPiero was a visiting professor for the American College of Rome, Rome, Italy, and has lectured in continuing legal education seminars since that time. Mr. DiPiero's primary practice consists of representing plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death cases, having obtained several large settlements and jury verdicts. He has also spent a substantial part of his practice in representing individuals accused of crimes in both federal and state courts. Since 1999, Mr. DiPiero has been involved in representing professional athletes; he is a certified contract advisor for both the National Football Players Association and the National Basketball Players Association.

Mr. DiPiero is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and also was selected for inclusion in the 2008 West Virginia Super Lawyers in the "personal injury plaintiff" category.

Mr. DiPiero has been very active in youth sports for many years, coaching football, basketball and baseball. He has been involved for many years with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is on the Board of Directors at Hope Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization created to empower the poor and assist at risk children.  He enjoys playing several sports, including basketball, golf, tennis and bocce, and he recently played basketball in the U.S. Senior Olympics.

Mr. DiPiero and his wife, Cheryl, have three children, Danielle, Joey and Luca Dante.
